Starting a Bosom Buddies Tournament

PHASE I (Preparation)
    Letter to get prizes (link to sample letter)
    Letter or flyer seeking players (link to sample letter)
    Donation pledge form (link to sample form)
    Dart Tourney sign up sheet (link to sample form) (posted in store with time and day preferences)
    Banner or sign (hang in front of store)

Media Strategies
Create a simple 'Media Release' for the event to secure both players and tournament exposure. Seek connection with allied breast cancer and medical organizations. Invite local media personalities who often want to cover the fun underwater. Train them before the event and get them to participate.

PHASE II (Tournament Play)
You can organize the tournament however it fits your schedule and tournament size. It takes about one hour to complete each bracket of 8 players. You can assign arrival times for individual players based on their brackets. Avoid snacks unless you have plenty of space. Make sure you have changing rooms, enough parking and printed directions for each player. Herešs a typical tournament schedule based on 64 players:

    Preliminary Rounds (all players by brackets)
        Friday 5:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m.
        Saturday 10:00 a.m. noon (lunch break for staff and players)
        Saturday 1:00 p.m. 5:00 p.m.
    Final Rounds (bracket winners)
        Sunday 10:00 a.m. noon (lunch break for staff and players)
        Sunday 1:00 p.m. 3:00 p.m.

PHASE III (Thank You Letters)
    Thank you letter to players (link to sample letter)

Recording Funds
I strongly recommend you set up a separate bank account for the tournament. Many local banks have free fundraising accounts. This keeps the books, donations and accounts separate and clear.
