Open Water


The Open Water class at Central Coast Dive Center is the first step on your journey to the underwater world.  It provides you with the basic skills you will need to be comfortable in the open water environment.  The two-week course is divided into 3 segments, each under the supervision of a PADI certified instructor.  In the academic portion you will learn basic dive theory.  The skill segment requires practice of diving techniques on-site in our swimming pool.  The final segment requires you to perform the skills in the actual open water diving environment.  This may be done locally over a weekend or on your next vacation. In order to start any class; you must have your own mask, fins, snorkel and book. Students requiring special attention can be sure they will find it here at Central Coast Dive Center. Private Lessons $375.00

Private lessons are scheduled according to your needs.

The cost for a single student is $375. 

The price drops to $325 per person for a group of 2-3 people. 

A group of 4 or more is only $290 per person.

In order to begin any class students must have their own mask, fins, snorkel, and book.

Open Water Certification Dates
All certifications consist of a full weekend of diving. Four separate dives will be conducted over Saturday and Sunday. An admission fee of $10.00 per day is payable directly to the quarry. Rental equipment is available. It is also possible to complete your certification on one of our dive trips.
